Then we can analyze that the graph referring to the boltzman distribution will be:

  • The y-axis of the Maxwell-Boltzmann graph can be viewed as the number of molecules per unit of velocity. So if the graph is higher in a given region, it means there are more gas molecules moving at those speeds.
  • There is a longer "tail" in the high velocity region at the far right of the graph. The graph continues on the right for extremely high speeds, but on the left the graph should end at zero.
