President Dwight D Eisenhower sent federal troops to Little Rock to protect students while upholding a supreme court ruling on the Brown V. Board of education of Topeka decision on integration.
   The Little Rock crises occurred in 1957 when nine African American students enrolled in Little Rock Central High School  were prevented from entering the racially segregated school by Orval Faubus, who was then the Governor of Arkansas.
  Following the crises that erupted, a supreme court gave the judgement to allow the students access to the school and President Dwight D Eisenhower sent federal troops to uphold that decision.
