While researching about language, Basil Bernstein found that working-class children used primarily pronouns in stories. The middle-class children, on the other hand, used more Descriptive Nouns.
These are words such as "he", "they", "she" etc, that are used instead of nouns or noun phrases. They are used in sentences especially when the noun has already been mentioned.
Descriptive Nouns refer to words or nouns that the writer uses to describe other nouns.
