Respuesta :

The exponent of a linear function is 1.

exponent refers to the number of times a number is multiplied by itself.

For example: y = x + 3, Here all of them have exponent of 1.  [tex]y^1 = x^1 + 3^1[/tex].

This is considered to be a linear function. Linear is a straight line.

Another example: y = x² + 8. Here x has exponent of 2 and rest 1.

But it is not a linear function as does not follow the rule of linear function:

y = mx + b

The exponent of a linear function is ____.

1) x

2)1

3) 0.5

4) 2
