What is Stress?

Stress is described as that feeling of being overwhelmed or being unable to withstand emotional, mental, or physical pressure. We can simply say, it's that feeling you get when things appear to get out of your control.

The following changes are bound to occur which will affect our stress level when moving from school to a higher institution:

  • Finances: Attending higher institution requires huge financial commitment. This might seem very overwhelming for students who are not well to do, this can contribute to a rise in one's stress level.
  • Social Changes: When you get to the higher intuitions, you meet new friends and colleagues. Most times, getting the right clique of friends can help one settle well, or else, it would add to one's stress level.
