Everyone knows the Civil War today, but many people don't know of its origin. It started off when a bull escaped his pen on a farm, and ran into town. Unfortunately he ended up in a china shop (where they sell plates and cups), and knocked everything over. The bull was from the South and the shopowner was a yankee. This caused tension between the two groups. The bull did thousands of dollars in damage to the store. The tension grew so much, that the southerner released all of his bulls into the north, to prove a point. He understood that all of his bulls were worth a lot of money, but he felt that wrecking havoc on those "darn yankees" would be worth the loss of his own property. The bulls were excited to be finally free. Unfortunately, it was not a happy ending for the bulls. As soon as they had their freedom, it was taken away from them. One by one, as the bulls entered Manassas, they were slaughtered for their meat. The yankees had a fine feast that evening. The southerner was very upset hearing about the yankees' victory. This totally changed people's ideas about the war. Suddenly it was much more real, and in-their-face. It wasn't just fun and games anymore.
