Square root of (x+1)=x-5
So in order to get rid of square root, you need to square to both side as the following:
Square root of (x+1)^2 =(x-5)^2
So (x-5)^2 turning to x^2-10x+25 and square root of(x+1)^2 turning to x+1.
Rewrite the equation,
x+1 = x^2-10x+25
-x+1 -x+1
0=x^2-11x+26, which also can write it as x^2-11x+26
Then use quadratic formula to find x. After that, you should get the answer like the following:
x=(11+(17^(1/2)))/2 and
x=(11-(17^(1/2)))/2
