If a bird flies from a warm area to a cold area, its internal body temperature will not get colder.
Birds are generally known to be homeothermic. That is, they have mechanisms in place that ensures that their internal body temperature does not vary a great deal, irrespective of the temperature of the environment.
When they fly to a cold area, their body metabolism increases to ensure that their body temperature does not drop below the normal range and when they fly to a hot area, their metabolism slows down to ensure that their normal body temperature is not exceeded.
