The women of the Seneca Falls Convention choose to echo the language of the Declaration of Independence for multiple reasons including:

A) Evoke an emotional response- The Declaration of Independence is often referred to in important speeches as a way to remind Americans of the reasoning for why we became a free nation during the late 18th century.

B) Show that they deserve similar rights to men- The Declaration of Independence says that "all men" are created equal. The women of this convention changed that wording to say that all people are equally and deserve equal treatment in the eyes of the law.

In the year 1848, the two women named Mary Ann McClintock and Jane Hunt were working with the leader of Stanton's home named Martha Wright. They called the conference meet at Seneca falls, in order to choose to echo the language.
