"Shelby!" you hear Kristin shout, "I found him! Over here!"
You turn your snow shoes toward the shouting and move through the thick trees and across the mounds of snow. Ahead, you see members of your search and rescue
team gathered around the base of a large tree.
"He's awake," Kristin says, "But he's very cold. I don't think he's injured anywhere...
"Garren? you ask as you approach the man sitting in the snow at the base of the tree. You check your watch and realize it's been 4 hours since he was first reported
missing from the ski lodge. "Do you know what happened
"Got lost.. so cold..." Garren mumbles, unable to keep his eyes open for long. You note the fact that he is not actively shivering, and feel your sense of urgency
increase.
"Ok Garren," you say as you feel his neck for a pulse, "you're hypothermic, but we're going to get you warm as soon as possible".
