The relationship that existed initially between the first nations and new France was that of Allies.

How were the first nations and New France allies?

They relied on each other to solve some of their economic problems such as fur trade, military alliances and buying of European goods.

The both of these sides established trusts in themselves and relied on each other for their survival.

The changes that New France caused was that it led the natives to accept Christianity as their religion.
