Worrying about reputation can interfere with embracing people’s differences because it is influenced by peer pressure and causes one to act like his or her surrounding behaviors in an attempt to fit in. Worrying about reputation also interferes with this by implying the need to be like everyone else, which in turn decreases the behavioral diversity in an environment. Because peer pressure is a major influence on how people respond and act on things, people are more likely to lean toward the side of reputation rather than standing out.

Worrying about reputation is superficial meaning that in this case u wouldn't care about your true self, feelings and thoughts you would focus on appearance and how people perceive you. Its blocks you brain from embracing your own differences and make you not accept others differences
