Try factoring. If you cannot find the pair of numbers, it is best to use the quadratic formula, unless you need something like the turning point, then you should use completing the square
It would be better to use quadratic formula for most of the problems in quadratic equations. However sometimes completing the square too is good. Wouldn’t recommend splitting the middle term for finding the roots cause its quite time taking and confusing whereas quadratic formula is a direct formula method.
