What is colonialism?

An act of establishing colonial rule in a foreign state or land, and also ruling an authority over the people in such foreign society, by implying taxes, rules and regulations, and laws is known as the act of colonialism.

One of the best examples of colonialism is the establishment of rule and authority by the British in the ancient India until their independence in 1947.
