Stars are born from an explosion of a dying star, called star clusters. They are twins, yet not identical twins. In the H–R diagrams for some young star clusters, stars of both low and high luminosity can be located off the main sequence, whereas 90% of stars are on the main sequence. Can you offer an explanation for why some stars are Red Giant and others White Dwarfs? Use the H–R diagram to aid your explanation as a star evolves off the main sequence.

Respuesta :

The reason why some stars are Red Giant and others White Dwarfs is because as stars are said to fuse helium into a much more larger atoms, they are said to become red giants.

Note that red giant, the inner helium core is said to shift and the outer layers of hydrogen widen . If the helium is gone, the stars are then said to become what we call white dwarfs.

What does an HR diagram tell us about star clusters?

The HR Diagrams tells us that  the stars that has the lower temperatures can be seen on the right hand side of the HR Diagram as well as others.
