Jesus was truly a teacher and taught in like manner where he delivered the teachings termed "Sermon on the Mount". This was what Mathew wanted readers to think about Jesus by seeing him as a a teacher by projecting more of what Jesus taught.

In this sermon, Matthew enables us to see Jesus Christ as an authority when it comes to the law that the Church should obey and pattern after. He actually emphasized on not abolishing the law by to fulfill the law itself and went ahead to state the prerequisite for being partakers of the kingdom of heaven.

Matthew also narrated the Beatitudes as appeared in the Sermon on the Mount that was taught by Jesus Christ, giving a blueprint for believers to pattern their life after.

Th Lord's prayer also teaches how God wants us to honor Him and also how God wants us to live in this world. Also, believers were made to understand what is required of them to prepare for judgement and live a live that pleases God.
