Sikhism emphasizes the unity, truth, and creation of a personal God and encourages unification with him by meditation on his name, the Name (Nam), and submission to his will. Sikhism was influenced by the devotional emphasis of bhakti Hinduism and Sufi Islam.

After that, he began to propagate a new school of thought that was distinct from Hinduism and would eventually develop into Sikhism.
