Skin that is cool, clammy, and pale in our primary assessment typically indicates hypoperfusion.

Hypoperfusion means that a reduced amount of blood flow. When ischemia develops due develops due to low blood flow,  it is also described as hypoperfusion. Low blood pressure, heart failure or loss of blood volume causes hypoperfusion.

Symptoms like lightheadedness, dizziness, headache, nausea, fatigue and shortness of breath are some of the symptoms of hypoperfusion. It leads to early glial activation and neuronal death, and subsequent long-term memory loss.

Shock is another name for hypoperfusion.
