Yes, I agree with the practice that such infractions need severe considerations and punishments, especially since we need to consider the principles of ethics, workplace safety as well as social conduct.
Even though it's one of a manager's most disagreeable tasks to fire an employee, there are times when it's the only wise move to do so. Any actions that endanger other employees and workplace safety will result in their immediate firing. This covers acts of aggression, vandalism, and purposefully putting the safety of other workers at risk by bringing hazardous materials like weapons to work. It is also not acceptable to use drugs or alcohol while at work or to arrive at your employment while under the influence of either. In other fields, like manufacturing, it is also grounds for immediate dismissal to violate safety regulations and endanger the health and safety of other workers.
