Third parties can have effect on them. If they do well and hard work they are often accused of having a spoiler effect. Third parties represent an ideology that considered too radical by mainstream parties and constituents.
They rarely actually win election , they have effect on them . If they do well then they have a good change to gain the elected office.Third party or independent candidate have gain at least 5.0% of the 14% and 6 candidates have gain election 2%.
American has only two party system which makes it is very difficult for any third parties to gain lot of traction which prevent them to get elected office.
