From 2016, the United Nations aimed to come up with virtual reality programs that are meant to help people to experience the things that other people in areas that are hard hit by emergencies are experiencing. For instance, one can live in a refugee tent virtually or face the Ebola epidemic that broke out in Western and Central Africa.
The aim of this initiative is that when people experience the pain and suffering that is being felt by the people who are experiencing these situations in real life, they will feel more empathetic and so offer more support to those people.
