Donna got a prepaid debit card with $25 on it. For her first purchase with the card, she bought some bulk ribbon at a craft store. The price of the ribbon was 24
cents per yard. If after that purchase there was $13.96 left on the card, how many yards of ribbon did Donna buy?

So to figure this out (probably the longer way) we subtract 25-13.96=11.04, which is how much she spent. Now we do .24*x=11.04 to figure out how many yards of the ribbon she bought. The formula would be .24*46=11.04, so 46 yards.
