Blue blood designates deoxygenated blood which is only seen in the chambers of the Right side of the heart.

The oxygenated blood is brought back to the heart by the pulmonary veins which enter the left atrium. From the left atrium blood flows into the left ventricle. The left ventricle pumps the blood to the aorta which will distribute the oxygenated blood to all parts of the body.

Deoxygenated blood or blue blood from the lower half of the body enters the heart from the inferior vena cava while deoxygenated blood from the upper body is delivered to the heart via the superior vena cava. Both the superior vena cava and inferior vena cava empty blood into the right atrium. This deoxygenated blood or blue blood is carried to the lungs for oxygenation through the pulmonary artery. It is then pumped to the heart via the pulmonary vein for circulation to various tissues.
