Thunder storms are generally formed due to warm air moving upwards which gradually condenses . These storms from in the cumulonimbus clouds. The basic requirements of a thunderstorm are strong winds, heat and a bit of moisture.

A thunderstorm, also known as an electrical storm or a lightning storm, is a type of storm in which lightning is present and produces the audible sound of thunder in the atmosphere of the Earth. Thundershowers are the name for relatively weak thunderstorms. A cumulonimbus is a form of cloud where thunderstorms develop.  They frequently produce heavy rain[1] and occasionally snow, sleet, or hail, and they are typically accompanied by strong winds. However, some thunderstorms result in little or no precipitation.

A squall line, often known as a succession of thunderstorms, can form or become a rainband. Large hail, powerful winds, and tornadoes are just a few of the most hazardous weather events that can occur during strong or severe thunderstorms. Supercell thunderstorms, which are some of the most persistent severe thunderstorms, revolve like cyclones. While most thunderstorms travel through the layer of the troposphere they are in with the mean wind flow, vertical wind shear can occasionally induce a diversion in their path that is perpendicular to the wind shear direction.
