The Dorsolateral prefrontal cortex is a part of the cerebral cortex. The cerebrum is the largest part of the brain, constituting about 85℅ of the brain. The cerebrum constitutes two cerebral hemispheres and the cerebral cortex. The cerebral cortex is the grey matter that covers the two hemispheres.
The cerebral cortex is mainly divided into four lobes which are as follows:
1. Frontal lobe
Located at the front of the brain, behind the forehead
2. Parietal lobe
Located on the top and rear of the brain
3. Temporal lobe
Located above both the ears
4. Occipital lobe
Located at the back of the brain.
The prefrontal cortex is the highly developed part of the frontal lobe that plays a vital role in cognitive functioning and behavioral attempts.
