Loyalty is the steady reliability to do one's duty in the service to the United States, the marine corps, oneself, one's family, and one's unit.
Along with loyalty, a marine corp should have values like self-discipline, patriotism, commitment, and valor towards his duty. These are all the core values that the marine corp is supposed to have in him. All these core values are relative. These are all subordinate to one universal value.
There is only one universal value called life value. It is the only value that applies to all people. It is also known as the core-core value. This value means having balanced regard for our lives and one's family and the lives of other people. This is consistent with our concepts of 'the right to life ' which is found in the US declaration of Independence.
