The Civil rights movement had influenced people for the need for equality and fairness in policies for everyone, and unbiased on the grounds of their race.

After the Civil rights movement, the government had started framing policies which were not biased on racial grounds and one of these discriminatory policy were the immigration laws.

Efforts had been made to eliminate the, racially motivated immigration laws which were mostly racially discriminated.

In 1965, the immigration legislation had been aimed at elimination of  the discriminatory and racially motivated policies, which were deciding that, who would be allowed to enter the united states on the basis of it's Race.

The new legislation had focused upon broadly two things, one is the skill based migration and the another was family reunification.

This legislation had shared a lot of objectives and a lot of influence with the Civil rights movements in the United states.
