The nurse is caring for client ,diabetes insipidus is caused by a lack of antidiuretic hormone which is  also called vasopressin, which prevents dehydration, or the kidney's inability to respond to ADH.

ADH enables the kidneys that retain water from the body. The hormone is produced in a region of the brain called the hypothalamus Cranial diabetes insipidus occurs when there's not enough AVP in the body to regulate urine production.

Cranial diabetes insipidus which is the most common type of diabetes insipidus. It can be caused by damage to the hypothalamus or pituitary gland  such as infection, operation, brain tumor or head injury.
