The latency is that the forth stage of growing, spanning the amount of six years to time of life. Throughout this stage the libido is dormant and no more growing takes place. This energy still remains there, however it's sublimed into alternative areas like intellectual pursuits and social interactions. This stage is vital within the development of social and communication skills and confidence.
