There are generally two atmospheric conditions which are most conductive to the formation of tornadoes:

  • Strong winds in upper level which causes displacement of updraft from downdraft and tilts the storms and storms will be vacuumed which is created at this region. This results in a formation of tornadoes.
  • Winds in the troposphere are the strongest atmospheric winds which flows at speed rages from 130 to 230 km/hr., but their top speed can be reach 445 km/hr. or more.

Large super cells are the cause of tornado formation. A massive collection of thunderstorm clouds is what super cells are. Its development can be explained simply by noting that warm air rises due of its low vapour pressure and cold air falls because of its high vapour pressure. As a result, the warm air at the end creates a vortex, which eventually turns into a funnel cloud and is what is known as a tornado. When a tornado is fully formed and prepared to wreak havoc, a distinctive green hue rises in the sky.
