Organ system functions frequently have a lot in common. For instance, the hypothalamus, an organ shared by the neurological and endocrine systems, controls both. This is why the neuroendocrine system—a combination of the two systems—is being researched. The musculoskeletal system, which deals with the interaction between the muscular and skeletal systems, is no different.
