If there is a shared left turn lane, do not use the shared-left turn lane for through travel. Enter the lane shortly before turning.
On some roadways, the centre lane is designated as a left-turn two-way lane. Only use this lane if you are getting ready to halt or slow down before making a left turn from the main route. When entering the road from a side street, do not utilize this lane as a travel lane (a vehicle may not move in this lane for more than 500 feet).
There may be more than one lane designated for left turns on some roadways. Enter the left lane to the right of the yellow dividing line if you are turning left from the side. Enter the right lane if you are making a right turn from the left side.
