The first farmer was probably a woman, and she observed how old seeds gave rise to new plants.
The quest of farming might have started when she saw new plants in crop field areas each time it rained and how old seeds could give rise to new plants. She may have also seen how areas around garbage boxes have little plants around them. How burned down trees or barren lands grow plants when it rains.
All of these various observation might have led her to experiment her curiosity which further resulted in agriculture practices. So it's true that women were the first farmers.
