A photon to the energy difference ∆° can be absorbed , promoting an electron to the higher energy level. As certain wavelength are absorbed in this process, subtractive color mixing occurs and the coordination complex solution becomes colored.
Every color has its complementary color ,so when green colour is absorbed the red color of the complex is formed same with other colours also like when yellow is absorbed violet colour is formed and when orange is absorbed blue colour is formed an so on.
