If blue color is absorbed then it will impart orange colour and another way is when the electron jump to higher oxidation state and it come back then it will release it's energy in the form of color.

When an electron of an element jumps to higher state by giving energy ,later it comes back and release some energy in the form of color ,it can be blue ,red , yellow and so on and other way is when blue color absorbs energy it will imparts a orange colour.
