The comparison of the other half lives with Carnegies gospel of wealth and how they representative of the era is that , Carnegie was known to have given advises that wealth need to be put in programs and public goods that will bring about  good and helps the poor to be better in their situation.

Like a lot of people, he believed that the rich have gotten their success due of their hard work and special traits or abilities, while the poor were seen to be  low or less talented and lazy.

What was the main point of Andrew Carnegie's Gospel of Wealth?

In “The Gospel of Wealth,” Carnegie is said to have stated that those great wealthy Americans such as himself are saddle with a responsibility to spend all their money so that they can help for a greater good.

In other words, the richest Americans need to be actively involved in philanthropy and charity works  in order to bridge the widening gap that exist between rich and poor.
