Successful ob managers use evidence-based management which relies on research-based facts to make decisions. 'Evidence-based' is a term initially forged in the field of medicine in the 1990s, but today its guides extend into disciplines as diverse as education, criminology, public policy, social activities, and (more lately) management.
The initial point for evidence-based management is that management decisions should be based on a mixture of critical thinking and the best available proof. And by 'evidence', we mean information, realities, or data that support (or contradict) a claim, assumption, or hypothesis. Evidence can arrive from scientific research, but internal business details and professional experience can also be viewed as 'evidence'. In theory, then, all managers base their judgments on 'evidence'.
