The main storage form of energy in our bodies is as a. glycogen.
Humans use energy in the form of glucose and store it in the form of glycogen.
Carbohydrates are broken down into glucose inside the body of an organism. Thus glucose releases ATP which is the main source of energy for all the cells inside the body.
However, if there is extra glucose present which the body does not require then it is stored inside the liver and muscles of a body in the form of glycogen. When there is a shortage of energy or glucose, this stored glycogen is converted into glucose and released into the blood stream so that the body can use it to derive ATP.
