It was a speech given by California Senator Richard Nixon on September 23, 1952, six weeks before the United States presidential election in which he was running as the Republican candidate for Vice President.
His position on the Republican ticket was in question, so he flew to Los Angeles and gave a half-hour television speech in which he defended himself, criticised his opponents, and urged the audience to get in touch with the Republican National Committee.
