A type of rock that forms directly from precipitates of hot water is called a hydrothermal rock

What is a hydrothermal rock?

Hydrothermal rocks are those whose minerals crystallized from hot water or whose minerals have been altered as a result of hot water passing through them. As a result, these rocks differ from metamorphic rocks, which are formed by solid-state mineral transformations.

In fact, many hydrothermal rocks (such as those formed by hot springs and geysers or crystallizing as veins in cracks in other rocks) form in layers, just like sedimentary rocks.

Veins form when hot water flows through cracks in the crust's bedrock. As temperatures drop, various minerals precipitate on the crack's sides. The shape and orientation of the minerals are determined by temperature, pressure, and flow rate. The crack is sealed and the vein is complete when all of the available space in the crack has been filled with mineral deposits.
