This is my summer homwork question.

Han spent 75 minutes practicing the piano over the weekend.

a] Priya practiced the violin for 152% as much time as Han practiced the piano. How long did she practice?

b] Tyler practiced the clarinet for 64% as much time as Han practiced the piano. How long did he practice?

Respuesta :

a) The time priya took to practice violin is 114 minutes .

b) The time Tyler took to practice violin is 48 minutes .

To find the solution, the first step is to convert the percentage into decimal form then multiply this number with the given values. We have been given that Han spent 75 minutes practicing piano over the weekend. And,

a) Priya spent 152% as much time as Han, practicing violin.

Thus first converting percentage to decimal we get,

                      152/100 = 1.52

The multiply 1.52 with 75 as it is given 152% of 75

Therefore,  1.52*75 = 114 minutes

Hence, Priya took 114 minutes to practice violin.

b) Tyler spent 64% as much as Han, practicing clarinet.

Thus first converting percentage to decimal we get,

                      64/100 = 0.64

The multiply 0.64 with 75 as it is given 64% of 75

Therefore,  0.64*75 =  48 minutes

Hence, Tyler took 48 minutes to practice violin.
