  Biomes are known to  span more than one continent. Biome is a broader term than habitat and can comprise a variety of habitats.

   Some biomes are characterized by very cold temperatures and treeless, frozen landscapes. some others are characterized by dense vegetation, seasonally warm temperatures, and abundant rainfall.
