The first two managers invest talent and double what they get. They give back to their owners twice what they got. And the owner will answer each Well done, good, and faithful servant. By contrast, the third servant or money his manager fearlessly digs a hole and makes his own way. He neglects his job of managing the owner's money. When the owner returns this servant digs it up and gives back only what he was given. To this, the owner said something like You are a wicked and lazy servant. And what was given to the bad deacon was taken from the bad deacon and given to the good deacon. And bad stewards were kicked out.
The story of the good steward foretells that Jesus will pass judgment and lead him to heaven. What we are called to invest in is to build and expand the Kingdom of God for His Second Coming. We are entrusted with the treasure of the gospel, faith, and authority in the spiritual realm. A good Bible custodian is always aware that he is working for God. God is the owner. Examples of responsible behavior include using safely biodegradable materials, reducing waste through recycling, and considering environmental impact when developing inventions and infrastructure.
