Students of many racial and cultural backgrounds attend the school. Students of African American, Hispanic, Asian American, and other racial groups might be present in the same classroom.
They were students who studied many languages. But we would all use American English, and we would all abide by the same rules and regulations set forth by the school administration. The school was completely devoid of racial discrimination, and minorities were not bullied. The teachers treated every student equally and worked well with the pupils from all racial and cultural backgrounds. All of us would adhere to the same culture.
I can only recall some of the remarks made in my school, which had a varied student body. Black people used the term "crackers" to refer to white people. Black people were referred to as "coons" by white people. The Spanish-speaking individuals were known as "Ricans," while the Asian minority was referred to as "chinks."
Race was not a factor where I was raised. A tiny town in Utah where the majority of residents were white Americans from the middle class. Growing up, I never really thought about or cared whether someone was different from me. We hold the view that everyone is a child of God and that to condemn or disparage another person is to lower oneself.
