The problem is;
-2(x-1) - 2 > 8 - 5x +4+ x
open the parenthesis
-2x + 2 -2 > 8- 5x + 4+ x
collect the like-term
-2x+5x-x > 8+4
2x > 12
divide both-side of the inequality by 2
x>6
The first mistake that was made is adding of the x-variables
It is 2x and not -6x
