In parthenogenesis, embryonic growth and development take place within a gamete alone, independent of the interaction of other gametes, in asexual reproduction. Parthenogenesis, which occurs when an animal embryo develops from an unfertilized egg cell, is the process. A component of apomixis in plants is parthenogenesis. It's a process by which an embryo didn't undergo fertilization to develop into a new person. Only female gametes in this system give rise to new offspring; males play no part in this process. Birds, ants, and honey bees are a few examples of plants that exhibit parthenogenesis. However, they result in tumors, the ovarian teratoma and the hydatidiform mole, respectively. In humans, spontaneous parthenogenetic and androgenetic events do occur. When an egg develops into an embryo through a process known as parthenogenesis, a sperm is not necessary for the process.
