Manifest Destiny is expressed in this text because it treats the United States of America as a sovereign nation and not only the right holder but the duty to dominate the sea and have the firepower to maintain that domain for the maintenance of freedom and its ideals.

The same idea of Manifest Destiny is also an expression of imperialism, since the firepower of the United States would be important for the imposition of its economic and cultural structures around the world.
