The pancreas is on the organ level of the structural hierarchy of the organization of the body.
Tissues combine to produce organs. As the pancreas is made of tissues so it is an organ. Exocrine tissue makes up 95% of the pancreas and creates pancreatic enzymes for digestion. Islets of Langerhans, which are endocrine cells, make up the remaining tissue. These clusters of cells, which resemble grapes, produce hormones that control pancreatic secretions and blood sugar levels. There are different levels of the structural hierarchy. From the tiniest chemical building blocks to a unique human person, the six distinct degrees of increasing complexity are frequently used to describe how the body is organized. Atoms, molecules, and subatomic particles are thought of as the most basic units of matter. Atoms are the smallest unit of any substance. Subatomic particles make up atoms. A molecule is made up of two or more atoms, including the carbohydrates, proteins, and water molecules present in living things. All of the physical components of the body are composed of molecules. A tissue is a group of many similar cells (though sometimes composed of a few related types) that work together to perform a specific function. An organ is an anatomically distinct structure of the body composed of two or more tissue types. Each organ performs one or more specific physiological functions. An organ system is a group of organs that work together to perform major functions or meet the physiological needs of the body.
The structural hierarchy is shown in the diagram which is attached as an image.
