Leave an empty lane between your vehicle and the emergency vehicle if possible. If not, slow down. Proceed with caution.

Every day, emergency workers put their lives in danger to help us. They occasionally run that risk just getting there. Time is of the importance while you are driving and you notice emergency vehicles with their lights and sirens on; move over immediately and cautiously.

Ambulances, fire departments, police cars, and privately owned vehicles for fireman or life support agencies are all examples of emergency vehicles.

When a rescue vehicle is coming,

  • stop, pull over to the side of the road, away from intersections.
  • Wait until the emergency vehicle has passed before moving forward. Look out for others. There could be a number of more emergency vehicles.
  • To signal your stop to emergency vehicle drivers, keep your foot on the brake.
