so 2 times 40 divided by 60

you would need to make 5 dozens into the amount of cookies
5dozen = 60cookies.
to downsize the recipe we divide the amount we want to make by the recipe
40/60 and then multiply by the amount in the recipe 2cups.
your answer is 1 1/3cups of sugar
